This Sunday, New Amsterdam Market will host its second annual Ice Cream Sunday. Like last year, it will be a veritable lactose orgy, with the likes of the Bent Spoon, La Newyorkina, and Victory Garden plying the crowds with miniature scoops of their delectable dairy.
Unlike last year, the event will have a competitive angle, with Anne Saxelby, Edible Manhattan editrix Gabrielle Langholtz, and Jeffrey Steingarten on hand to judge the most creative flavor. And there’s one other change to report: We’re offering discounted tickets.
General admission tickets are $25. But by typing in the promotional code “icecreamvillage11” when you go to purchase your tickets, you’ll pay $20. The number of discounted tickets is limited, so act sooner rather than later — as any ice cream fanatic knows, waiting too long only results in melting and a soggy cone.
General admission to the Ice Cream Sunday starts at 1 and goes until 4 p.m. Once you’re in, you’ll find the following vendors:
Gabrielle Carbone, the Bent Spoon
Sarah Cox, Blue Bottle Coffee
Amy Miller, Early Bird Cookery
Avery Wittkamp, Marlow & Sons
Walter Youngblood, KINGLeche Crème
Fany Gerson, La Newyorkina
Matt Downes, Steve’s Ice Cream
Ben Van Leeuwen, Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream
Sophia Brittan,Victory Garden
Meredith Kurtzman, Otto Pizzeria
