The Cause Collective, a team of artists, designers, and ethnographers creating innovative art in the public realm, is going to great lengths to figure out who you really are. The Truth Is I Am You is an art installation/floating poem by this Bay Area–based group, in partnership with MoCADA, that features bubble-caption balloons hovering over Governors Island inspired by Andy Warhol’s 1966 “Silver Clouds.” The work is a continuation of the Truth Project, which aims to make people go “hmm,” or, better yet, consider “who we are, what we value, where we come from, and where we are going.” Each balloon displays a line from the poem “The Truth Is I Am You,” translated into 25 of the most spoken languages by New York City residents.

Fridays-Sundays, 11 a.m. Starts: Aug. 26. Continues through Sept. 25, 2011
