Staten Island Deli Allegedly Sold Percocet, Xanax and Oxycodone

Corner delis are great; they have hot sandwiches, beer, snacks and everything you need. Some, like Nel Boy Bagels in Staten Island, may go a bit overboard. The Daily News reports the Amboy Road deli was busted in a recent sting operation where they allegedly sold “500 Oxycodone pills, 368 Percocet pills and 245 Xanax pills” to undercover detectives. The pills were reportedly sold for $20 each in yet another example of deli price gouging.

The sting, dubbed “Operation Bitter Pill,” led to 25 arrests. It also yielded 300 grams of cocaine, a Tec-9 and a 9mm gun. Further search warrants resulted in detectives seizing “100 glassine bags of heroin, eight ounces of marijuana and six vehicles.”

Nel Boy Bagels owner Syed Rashin was arrested and is being charged with three counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance.
