Manu Chao

by

In the unlikely event that Bob Marley and the Clash had procreated, their offspring would have certainly resembled this politically engaged Spaniard. On record, Chao is a canny self-cannibalizer who has long grasped the world as a Zizekian theater of permanent crisis. Onstage, though, he’s the rabble-rousing icon for European party animals of all denomination, with one urgent geospecific anthem bleeding almost indistinguishably into the next.
