The Midtown Ippudo Should Open in January

In February, word went round that Ippudo would be expanding its insanely popular ramen empire from the East Village to Midtown. Few details were available at the time, but now Crain’s reports that the restaurant will be located at 321-323 West 51st Street. The bi-level space comprises 5,000 square feet and was for 38 years home to René Pujol, a French restaurant that closed in 2008. Should all go according to plan, the newest outpost of Ippudo — which has 59 locations in Japan — will open in January.
