Sporadically active since 1978, pop-punk pioneers the Descendents are touring again, thanks to their frontman, biochemist Dr. Milo Aukerman, taking a break from researching plants. Although the band members have toured without Aukerman in their other band, All, this is the first time the Descendents have played in New York City since 1997. Unless you want to be stereotyped and classified—lifestyle choices they lampooned in their song “Suburban Home”—catch this concert while you can, otherwise you might be waiting another 14 years, and Dr. Aukerman will by then have completed his experiments to replace his bandmates with mutated plants. With H20 and the Suicide Machines.
