Do you ever get the feeling you’re being watched or perhaps even videotaped? Tonight’s film, Ariane Michel’s The Screening, part of the French Institute Alliance Française’s “Crossing the Line” multimedia contemporary art festival, invites viewers deep into the woods where they’ll be seated on white benches to view the film below the night sky. Making its North American premiere, the “surreal cinematic experience” opens with a group of people sitting on white benches watching a movie in the forest late at night. Sound familiar? You’ll wonder if you’re watching a movie about yourself or if you’re being set up.
