This reintroduction to these legendary ‘90s metalheads is actually somewhat timely, as their noisy slop-punk sometimes feels like what you might get if Nathan Williams of Wavves turned in through Ozzy Osbourne’s perpetual revolving door for guitarists. And when the band is less controlled, it almost seems like frontman Page Hamilton is trying to trap Sonic Youth’s chaos inside cages shaped like stoner metal riffs, still a winning formula even when he can’t fully contain it.
