If you’ve been putting off getting into an exercise program and now winter—and holiday eating—is staring you in the face, get over to Central Park Saturday mornings for Health and Race Walking. This is a moderate-to-brisk walk led by the New York Walkers Club for people over 18 at all walking levels. A low-impact program, it’s perfect for those who can’t jog or run (for whatever reason), but would like more of a cardio workout than walking. You can get into shape and build muscle tone and strength as well. The program is free and no pre-registration is required. Just be there, ready to walk. Big bonus: Central Park in the fall!
