Fiorini means “little flower,” and this pasta in the ravioli family is shaped like flowers.
Inside is a mixture of ricotta and finely ground sausage, and the pasta is sauced with wild-mushroom puree, olive oil, and a simple green herbal relish.
Find it at the third iteration of the Frankies empire, occupying a rather large West Village corner on Hudson Street. Those who know the original place won’t recognize what the restaurant has evolved into, with an expanded menu that includes lots of salads, antipasti, homemade pasta, and specials. Plus sandwiches.
