Speaking with the Voice last month, Amy Klein updated us on recent news from her cleverly named Permanent Wave feminist collective, which since forming in December had, among other things, organized a handful of protests and a fundraiser benefiting the Center Against Domestic Violence. Tonight, the group attempts something lighter with what they’re describing as a “ridiculously fun night of cover sets,” concluding with Amy leading her Blue Star Band through a set of Springsteen’s greatest hits, perhaps including the one that her now former band, Titus Andronicus, referenced when frontman Patrick Stickles shouted, “Baby we were born to die” on The Monitor opener “A More Perfect Union.”
