Well, this is not the real James Franco, but this version of James Franco can live on forever. For a measly $8,000, original photographs taken by the lovable Jack-of-all-trades can be yours when they go on sale next week at the RxArt Pop-Up Shop.
The nonprofit, which places fine art in hospitals around the country, will offer original artworks for sale by sought-after contemporary artists such as Terence Koh and Carroll Dunham. We know the last thing on your mind is doing some early holiday shopping, but wouldn’t Franco make an ideal stocking stuffer?
On sale will be six different pieces by Franco. Each is a set of five framed Polaroids, titled Asheville #1-6.
A rotating installation will be available to purchase over the shop’s duration, including works by Will Cotton, Todd Eberle, Chris Johanson, Odilon Redon, Haim Steinbach, William Wegman, Matthew Brannon, Lawrence Weiner, and several others. Many of the pieces were donated by the artists themselves.
RxArt states that proceeds from the sale will help fund their projects and support their mission of “improving otherwise sterile healthcare environments, inspiring hope in patients, families and staff.”
The kick-off party will be held on Thursday, November 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. Regular shop hours are Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., at 208 Forsyth Street. For more information visit RxArt.
