Bucchino is a germ in today’s cabaret landscape, a songwriter knocking loudly on fame’s door and playing the piano as if it were his personal orchestra, instant confirmation that tunesmiths often put their songs across better than anyone else. He’s also provided the score for the poorly received “A Catered Affair,” but the reaction was hardly his fault. Just remember, this is the guy who wrote both “Unexpressed” and “Grateful.” Though if you don’t remember, he’s likely to remind you.
