Everyone wants to be known for something even if it’s just for holding the record for “Most People Hit in the Face With Pies While Wearing Roller Skates in 30 Seconds.” Yes, that actually exists on, the freewheeling online alternative to The Guinness Book of World Records. Since 2008, the website has catalogged more than 20,000 record setters from more than 50 countries and now the co-founders Dan Rollman and Corey Henderson have put more than 300 of the more fascinating ones into a collectible book, The RecordSetter Book of World Records. Tonight, at the launch party, join them for a record-setting event: to create the largest group hug in a bookstore. The current record of 44 people was set in Lansing, Michigan. Surely Brooklyn (a/k/a Book-lyn) can do better than that.
