Attention all space oddities, queen bitches, and young Americans—David Bowie’s 65th birthday is almost here (it’s January 8) and to celebrate, the BowieBall is landing its spaceship once again at (le) poisson rouge. If you don’t have a striped jumpsuit, mullet wig, or red dancing shoes, stylists will be on hand to make the appropriate ch-ch-ch-changes (apologies) to your makeup, hair, and wardrobe. DJs and a live band—including pretty things Amber Martin, Bridget Everett, and Lady Rizo—will play Bowie’s greatest hits and lead everyone in a sing-along. At past balls, Debbie Harry and Chloë Sevigny have been spotted in the crowd, so look closely—you never know who might be under all that glitter.
