Backstage policier? Musical noir? Virtually unknown here, this 1947 hardboiled entertainment by French genre-meister H.G. Clouzot suggests a Langian remake of Murder at the Vanities, albeit with that certain je ne sais quoi embodied by beaming sexpot Suzy Delair singing the charms of her petit “tra-la-la.”
