Although you might not be familiar with the name Studio Ghibli, you’re certainly familiar with the award-winning animation this Japanese film studio has produced, including the Acadaemy Award–winning Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and Princess Mononoke, all by Hayao Miyazaki. Now you can see these films and more in fresh 35mm prints during the retrospective Castles in the Sky: Miyazaki, Takahata & the Masters of Studio Ghibli at IFC Center. Presented by distribution company GKIDS, the series brings together 15 features produced between 1984 and 2009 shown in both the subtitled and English dubbed versions.
