For the 26th year, BAM hosts the day-long Brooklyn Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. So spend your day off commemorating (OK, maybe sleep in just a little, too) with keynote speaker Dennis M. Walcott, New York City schools chancellor and social-justice advocate. Then Brooklyn musician/activist Toshi Reagon and BIGLovely play a set, followed by the Institutional Radio Choir C.O.G.I.C. After the festivities, catch a free screening of The Black Power Mixtape 1967–1975, a documentary made by Swedish journalists about the Black Power Movement.
