Year of the Takeout: Day 17

Shredded Pork, Szechuan Style from ??? ???

OK, fair and dedicated Year of the Takeout readers, I’m not going to lie to you: I didn’t get Chinese food downtown today, so I decided to pick some on my way home about an hour ago. During said uptown trip, I stopped by a place that sounded familiar — but at 10:30 p.m., after a 12ish-hour day at the writerly salt mines, everything sounds both alien and familiar at the same time, so I didn’t think too much about it and just gave the lovely lady my credit card and called it a night.

Aaaaaanyway, I got home and started to write this post and realized — son of a bitch! — I’d totally been to this place before.

So, we’re going to play another guessing game. This time, you get the name of the dish and the price, and you get to figure out where it comes from. Again, the winner gets a cookbook or something of equal (though probably lesser) value.

(Note: Because of a problem with the commenting software, the answer to last week’s riddle never displayed, but the Voice‘s tech team is a workin’ on that, FYI.)

That said, leave your theories in the comments field below. Tomorrow, you get the full review and the answers …

Hint: The pick costs $5.50 per pint!
