Mark Wahlberg was scheduled to be on one of the planes that hit the World Center on 9/11, but he changed his flight at the last minute — his smartest move since putting pants back on.
But if he had been on the flight, he wouldn’t have worried anyway.
As you may have heard, Mark just told told Men’s Journal:
“If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.'”
First of all, shouldn’t it be gone down, not went down?
Secondly, does Wahlberg really think he’s the action hero in real life that he plays for fake (and for moolah)?
If so, could The Rock and Vin Diesel have averted the other plane tragedies that day?
Could Tom Cruise merely hold up a hand and stop a hurricane?
Nah. They couldn’t even cut through rush-hour traffic.
Fortunately, Wahlberg has rethought his claim and apologized in the wake of loud protests.
“To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous to begin with,” he now says, wisely, “and to suggest I would have done anything differently than the passengers on that plane was irresponsible.”
But I do hope Wahlberg sneaks into the next Republican debate and kicks some ass.
