Little Havana, a Greenwich Village Cuban stalwart that once ruled Cornelia Street, has called it quits. A walk by the restaurant this morning revealed a “For Rent” sign in the window, and all the tables and chairs had been removed from the premises. In some respects, it’s not surprising. The quality of the food had gone downhill, and the small storefront had to face competition from flashier restaurants like the Pearl Oyster Bar and newcomer Wong. Still, it’s always sad when an old-timer dies. Little Havana, we raise a mojito in your memory.
