If you happen to stop into Soho’s Dominique Ansel Bakery this weekend, you may notice a new addition to their recently expanded lineup: a Super Bowl S’more.
A two-finger-thick smoked cinnamon marshmallow sits between spices biscuits, the advertised chocolate nowhere to be seen. Until you cut, or bite if you’re brave, into the sandwich. Hidden within the ‘mallow is a chocolate ganache ball, not oozing chocolate as you might expect from this updated version of a campfire favorite, but creamy and rich nonetheless.
You may be asking: What makes this a Super Bowl treat? The addition of frosting decoration, of course. A sugary brown layer gives it its special occasion flare while white piping displays the Roman numerals of this year’s game.
According to the friendly gentleman at the counter, the treat just came into existence today and will only be available through Sunday. If you’d like to order a slew for your blowout, call ahead to place your order.
