Close to a quarter of a century ago, when Webster Hall was still called the Ritz, four rabble-rousers and their redhead ringleader Axl came to the venue to recorded for what became a legendary concert once aired on MTV. At the time, Guns N’ Roses were just beginning to turn heads: Their 1987 debut, Appetite for Destruction, had just shot up the charts and bootleg videos of their Live at the Ritz performance would soon become a hot commodity. Tonight, Rose returns with his current, eight-piece lineup to put on another unpredictable, stamina-reliant gig. In honor of the group’s return, the venue is changing its marquee back to the old name for one night only.
