Tonight, two major names in New York’s arts community, classical composer Philip Glass and rock singer-songwriter-poet Patti Smith howl together in tribute to their sometime contemporary, poet Allen Ginsberg, who passed away in 1997. Over the course of the 90-minute showcase, which is a part of the Tune-In Festival celebrating Glass’ 75th birthday, they are rumored to present their own works, including Glass’s “Etudes #2,” as well as some of Ginsberg’s poetry. Smith and Glass have also worked to procure images, paintings, and photos of Ginsberg to illustrate his work beyond his words’ impact.
