TWIN PEAKS REDUX

by

To a Twin Peaks purist, Angelo Badalamenti’s chilling theme song to David Lynch’s much-too-short-lived television show (which he wrote while Lynch spoke to him about a dark forest) would be sacrilege to change. But that’s just what electronic duo Silent Drape Runners aims to do when they perform a live re-soundtracking of the show’s first episode. For this performance, the twosome will play their original compositions and remixes to set the eerie mood for the hours following the murder of Laura Palmer. The performance is part of the 20th anniversary celebration of the 1992 film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me; mark your calendars for February 24 (the day Laura Palmer’s body was found) when 92Y Tribeca screens the film, with a guest appearance by actor Dana Ashbrook (a/k/a heartthrob Bobby).
