New Yorkers lucked out this year with a pretty low-key winter. After last year’s horrible mess of a season, mother nature gifted us with a mostly snowless couple of months so far. But you know who got absolutely rocked with snow? Sweden. So much so, that a man was recently discovered “hibernating” in his car. He had been locked inside of the vehicle since the 19th of December and survived with no food at all.
Reuters explains how the guy was found:
He was found not far from the city of Umea in the north of Sweden by snowmobilers who thought they had come across a car wreck until they dug their way to a window and saw movement inside.
They also spoke to a Swedish physician who claims that the human body is totally capable of brief periods of hibernation under low temperatures because very little energy is being used.
Hold on a second, this guy may totally be on to something. Imagine a world where we just hibernate all winter.
Let’s skip over the hassles of buying Christmas gifts and making horrible plans for New Year’s Eve. We won’t have to shovel anymore and we won’t have to brave the cold winter winds. Skipping over winter entirely is the only option. This man is an innovator and we should follow in his fine (accidental) example.
