A consistently fun, consistently sold-out boot-stomping good time is the annual Johnny Cash Birthday Bash put on by country band Alex Battles & the Whisky Rebellion. This February 26, the Man in Black would have turned 80, and to celebrate, Battles and company are doing not one but two nights of singing, dancing, and whisky drinking. Two classic Cash films will screen: Johnny Cash in San Quentin as doors open on Friday and Five Minutes to Live on Saturday. Tonight, Alex Battles & the Whisky Rebellion will perform Cash’s legendary 1969 set at San Quentin, and on Saturday, the band will do the Folsom Prison show.

Fri., Feb. 24, 8 p.m.; Sat., Feb. 25, 8 p.m., 2012
