Brooklyn’s School of Seven Bells is set to release its third studio disc today, and to mark the occasion, the moody neo-shoegazers are playing two sold-out Mercury Lounge gigs before heading to Europe for a week of shows there. The new album—the band’s first since the departure of Claudia Deheza—is called Ghostory, which suggests well enough what you’re in for: spooky atmospheres, smeared synths, words about nighttime, and the white wind. Tonight they play early with an opening set by locals Exitmusic (featuring Aleksa Palladino of Boardwalk Empire). Next Thursday’s late, with ex-Chairlift dude Aaron Pfenning’s Rewards.
