The buzz: Fresh ginger in a cocktail can leave a lasting impression when paired with a nice dry gin. At least this is the case in Whitehall’s No. 4, which uses muddled ginger for a refreshing spiciness that lingers in the back of the mouth long after the last sip. Light and without a strong juniper taste, Greenall’s gin is an unobtrusive accompaniment to the cocktail’s bold ginger flavor, but still lends the drink pleasant floral and honey notes. This winning combination makes for a laid-back yet wintry drink ideal for starting the night off right.
