Many a self-help book claim that success takes hard work and self-discipline. But tonight, let filmmaker Kevin Smith of Clerks fame tell you otherwise at his book-release event for Tough Sh*t: Life Advice From a Fat, Lazy Slob Who Did Good. Smith, who last year announced that his next film, Hit Somebody, will be his last, explains why Ferris Bueller is his “personal savior,” the life lessons he has learned from Wayne Gretzky, and the best way to tell your critics to suck it. As Smith is an excellent storyteller and loves nothing more than to talk and talk and talk about how moronic the film industry is, the evening should be a lively one.
