Our Lady Peace

by

Canadian alt-rockers Our Lady Peace had been playing for 10 years before the 2002 release of Gravity, the album whose single “Somewhere Out There” rocked the radio waves, not to mention an integral episode of television’s The O.C. Although the tune marked a departure from previous efforts, which featured Raine Maida’s distinctive nasal falsetto and garnered comparisons to bands like Smashing Pumpkins, the album flung them into the mainstream. With this year’s Curve, however, the band has decided to revisit their erratic art rock days, so expect more countertenor experimentation alongside the generic pop rock structure that first made OLP famous.
