Albany pols announced yesterday that a bill legalizing mixed-martial arts wouldn’t even make it to the Assembly floor for a vote. (H/T City & State.)
MMA has been banned in New York since the mid-1990s and the sport’s boosters have since worked to overturn the rule.
An Ultimate Fighting Championship spokesman had this to say reporters: “We’ve been knocked down before, but we’ll keep fighting.”
(‘Knocked down.’ ‘Fighting.’ See what he did there? GET IT? GET IT?)
Anyway, the UFC flack isn’t the only one with an, uhm, flair for fightin’ words.
