It’s been a while since we’ve heard from this English singer-songwriter, whose most recent album, 2006’s Comfort of Strangers, found her moving away entirely from the so-called folktronica sound she helped pioneer. When I caught Orton at a Los Angeles gig in 2010 she did stripped-down versions of old tunes and played some lovely new material (including a duet with Gillian Welch) from an album reportedly due out this year. She plays two sets—one early, one late—tonight.
