At Union Hall in Brooklyn, the comedian Greg Barris made a name for himself with his consistently sold-out variety show of quirks The Heart of Darkness. On his website, he described it as the “world’s most important live event.” And to get a preview, here’s one detail to take into consideration: Each show spotlighted an expert voice from a particular field of science. With that being said, Barris is bringing the laughter to Chelsea. Audience members and some unannounced “special” guests will be part of a 45-minute recording for his new album, Better and Better, at the notorious Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. In his words, “please come and bring 25 friends” or else you’ll feel terrible about yourself.
