Percussionist John Colpitts—a/k/a Kid Millions of noise-transcendentalists Oneida—digs a good drone. Acoustic and electronic drones of all sorts rise and cascade throughout his new album, Pansophical Cataract, intersecting with the incessant single-stroke rolls played by two drummers on a single head. Greg Fox (Liturgy, Dan Deacon), James McNew (Yo La Tengo), and Bryan Devendorf (The National) are among the guest droners at this guaranteed loud and viscerally demanding gig. Meanwhile, acid-blues guitars drive the diverting tribal ramblings of tonight’s opener, Brooklyn septet Nymph. With Colin Langenus Orchestra.
