A decade after the release of their last proper album, the Promise Ring are touring for a short tour to revisit their oft-imitated brand of post-hardcore (or maybe “emo,” if you’re older than 32). They may be in town to play alongside the Foo Fighters and My Chemical Romance at day two of the Bamboozle festival, but tonight will likely be the more special performance. If set lists from their reunion gigs in February are any indication, the band likes to play marathon sets, covering a sizable portion of their catalog.
