New York–based Mauro Remiddi just returned to the United States following a sold-out European tour with Beach House. But dude is hardly taking the summer off: Tonight, the shoegaze sensualist better known as Porcelain Raft plays one of the first dates of a North American jaunt he’s cramming in before heading back across the pond for a series of festival gigs. The hectic schedule comes as a surprise given the mellow moods of Strange Weekend, Porcelain Raft’s unhurried dream-pop album from earlier this year: It sounds like the work of a man who knows how to stop and smell the roses.
