Even if you’ve never heard of ratchet music, the rap-production style associated with L.A.’s DJ “Dijon McFarlane” Mustard, you’ve probably heard “Rack City,” the inescapable Tyga single produced by Mustard and originally intended for mutual friend YG. Just as that brooding minimalist tune has been tearing up clubs across the country, previous YG/Mustard collabs like “Patty Cake” and “Snitches Ain’t . . .” have been tearing up clubs all over post-jerk California. Tonight, the rapper brings both, as well as the warm, playful Ty$-produced “Toot It and Boot It” for a rare New York appearance at—where else?—SOB’s.
