Hoxton Street Monster Supplies (by way of London) is offering a line of flavored salts supposedly made of human tears. There are five varieties of the salts, and each is “harvested” from a different emotion or experience: chopping onions, sneezing, laughter, anger, and tears of sorrow.
Each salt has a distinctive flavor.
Salt Made From Tears, for example, has a lavender flavor.
According to their website: “Salt Made From Tears combines centuries-old craft with the freshest human tears which are gently boiled, released into shallow crystallisation tanks, then harvested by hand and finally rinsed in brine.”
Now before people get really freaked out, the shop and its products are meant to be silly and fantastical. The company sells those products to get kids’ imaginations going. Hoxton Street Monster Supplies is the shop of the Ministry of Stories, a English writing center where kids go to be tutored by volunteers.
