This time last year, the members of New York’s fun.—an emo supergroup of sorts featuring dudes from the Format, Anathallo, and Steel Train—were on the road as Panic! at the Disco’s opening act. Now they’re major-label headliners with a number-one single in their vintage-tuxedo pocket: “We Are Young,” the triumphant electro-glam anthem that along with Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” has helped redefine the Hot 100 in 2012. (Partial credit should probably go to Glee, which has covered both tunes.) Tonight fun. lands at Terminal 5 for the first of two sold-out hometown gigs before jetting off to Europe.
