OK, so when we asked for this, we thought we would get breaded, fried pieces of chicken covered in honey — which we didn’t.
We were also wary about taking that first bite, because of this horrible experience.
So, how did May May’s $10.50 pick rank?
The sauce has a sugary vibe, but doesn’t sicken the stomach, like the offering at that random Florida takeout joint mentioned above. It’s almost citrusy, such as a sweet-and-sour selection, but without the tartness.
What must be mentioned is the impressive quality of the meat — it’s quite moist and the batter comes out soft, owing to made-to-order frying.
