Yes, you saw that correctly — that is indeed pastrami wrapped around a chicken breast that is then breaded and deep fried.

And it is just great.

Whereas chicken can often be mediocre — perhaps a brand of bland, dry, or stringy — the smoky meat really does add moisture and depth to this simple stir-fry dish.

Be advised: it’s too damned pricey ($18.95. Shit!)
