What’s the difference between a vacuum cleaner and a lawyer on a motorcycle? The vacuum has the dirtbag on the side…
Take, for example, Matthew Cohen, the attorney for Stanely Williams, 20, who allegedly shot a 3-year-old in the leg earlier this week. Shooting a 3-year-old isn’t the end of the world, though — if you ask Cohen.
Williams — and his co-defendant, 22-year-old Antonio McCloud — was arraigned yesterday for the shooting of 3-year-old Isaiah Gonzalez, who caught a bullet in the leg during a shootout in Bed-Stuy on Sunday. At the time, Isaiah was playing in a sprinkler at a park when the pair of thugs fired multiple shots at a group of people playing dice nearby.
“This is not a homicide,” Cohen reportedly told Judge Kevin McGrath of the shooting.
Cohen went on to say that “Even the alleged injury is not that severe.”
Again, Gonzalez is 3 — but oh well.
McGrath apparently found Cohen’s idiotic argument — and the heinousness
of Williams’ alleged crime — as offensive as we do. He ordered Williams held on $1 million bail, noting that Williams has a “total disregard for society.”
Being an insensitive prick, unfortunately, isn’t illegal, so Cohen
hasn’t been charged with any crimes. Unfortunately for him, though, he
still has to look himself in the mirror every day.
