Long live the G-Train, after all!
The looping line will permanently run from Church Avenue to Queens, and the City has also announced the return of B-29 bus service over the Williamsburg Bridge. The M9 will now go to Battery Park City, according to State Sen. Daniel Squadron.
Also, there will be B24, M21, and B69 weekend service; the B57 will be extended into Red Hook.
The news is part of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s announcement today of major transit investments.
In total, the MTA will add and extend service on some 40 bus, subway, and commuter rail lines.
The changes will be enacted over the next few months, at an estimated $29 million annual cost to the MTA.
Most importantly, we hope wonder: Will this mean the return of the Ms. G-Train Pageant?
