New Jersey Youth Pastor Accused Of Sexually Abusing 12-Year-Old Boy

For the second time in a week, a religious leader in New Jersey is accused of sexual assault — the latest, former youth pastor Jeffrey Mackintosh, is accused of repeatedly abusing a 12-year-old boy more than a decade ago.

Mackintosh, 46, was arrested Thursday at his home in Phillipsburgh in Middlesex County after his alleged victim — who is now an adult — went to Perth Amboy police on July 5, to report the abuse.

The alleged victim told police the abuse happened on multiple occasions in 2000, while Mackintosh was serving as youth pastor at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church.

Mackintosh now works as a computer technician, and has no affiliation with the church. What prompted his departure is unclear — the church didn’t immediately respond to our request for comment this morning.

Last week, authorities in New Jersey arrested 64-year-old Father Velanmarukudiyil
J. Christudas
— a Catholic priest known to his flock as “Father Chris” —
after one of his female parishioners claimed he sexually abused her and
her child at their home. Christudas has been charged with one count of criminal sexual contact with the female, one count of
criminal sexual contact with the child and one count of endangering the
welfare of a child.

Mackntosh now faces charges of sexual assault and endangering the
welfare of a minor. He’s currently being held on $150,000 bail.
