Next Friday, August 3 is another national (insert food item) day. This time: watermelons.
Spice Market will be celebrating the occasion with two dishes that will be added as specials on the menu. Executive Chef Anthony Ricco will be serving watermelon gazpacho ($8.50), and bringing back an old dessert favorite — chocolate covered watermelon slices ($8).
The gazpacho is a Thai-inspired ice-cold soup incorporating watermelon, Thai chilies, tomatoes, cucumber, and red wine vinegar. It’s garnished with yellow watermelon, cherry tomatoes, red bell pepper and Thai basil.
The chocolate watermelon slices are juicy pieces of ripe watermelon with a milk chocolate hardshell and dusted with crushed spiced almonds.
