The Spot Dessert Bar team’s latest project, Jum Mum, is a cute shop you’ll find down a few sticky stairs on St. Mark’s. Stacks of steam baskets are piled up behind the window as diners fill up on noodles and hot, doughy buns (these tend to lose their charm if you pack them to go, so eat them right away). They’re generously stuffed with fillings like baby back ribs and barbecue sauce, or crispy duck with hoisin and a spicy orange marmalade.
