The end of apartheid was an unquestioned good for South Africa, but it did seem to somewhat derail Athol Fugard’s career. One of the system’s most outspoken critics, Fugard had to reforge a career in its wake. This drama, which he directs for the Signature, is one effort, a story of an innocent man made accessory to a murder/suicide.
