According to a recent Gallup report, Americans like beer more than wine.
Additional studies have shown that those in the East Coast are more likely to drink wine, whereas drinkers in the Midwest show the greatest preference for beer. There’s also a gender gap — with women more likely to choose wine than men.
Here’s the breakdown:
Thirty-nine percent of Americans said that they drink beer the most of any alcoholic beverage, followed by 35 percent of Americans saying they drink wine the most. The rest (at 22 percent) preferred liquor.
The study also found that Americans drink an average of four alcoholic beverages a week.
