Poor, Anna. Overweight and the target of bullies, she’s misunderstood by her mother and neglected by her environmentalist father, who puts saving the planet first. No one seems to get her until her estranged uncle suddenly appears. British playwright Nick Payne’s debut drama, If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet, received raves across the pond, and now it’s headed to the Roundabout Theatre with Jake Gyllenhaal, making his American stage debut as the handsome and easy-to-talk-to uncle (oh, if only we all could have been so lucky). Michael Longhurst directs.
Tuesdays-Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Aug. 24. Continues through Dec. 23, 2012
